Dive into the delicious science behind your morning latte! Discover how milk’s fats and proteins shape the silky foam that makes latte art possible. Watch a live demonstration by professional baristas, then try your hand at creating your own design using freshly steamed milk. Explore the chemistry of milk structure and microfoam—all while sipping and experimenting like a true coffee scientist. This event is part of the 2026 Atlanta Science Festival. Tickets can be purchased directly from the ATL Science Festival site. NOTE: Even though tickets show as sold out on this site, they may still be available through ATL Science Festival.

Whether you’re just getting started as a barista, have an espresso machine at home, or simply want to learn latte art technique for fun, this hands-on class is a great introduction to basic latte art. You’ll get direct instruction and practice using commercial or home espresso equipment to get one step better in pouring latte art - whether that's starting with a simple heart, or improving technique for more consistent milk texture for your more advanced pours.
