Frequently Asked Questions
Can I cancel or reschedule after I’ve booked a class?
Need to cancel, reschedule, or transfer a ticket? Visit our Ticket Changes page to submit a request and pay any applicable fees.
SCA Certificate Courses
SCA (Specialty Coffee Association) certificate courses have limited seats and require significant lead time to schedule, staff, and prepare. They follow a stricter policy than our other classes.
Refunds & Rescheduling
- 30+ days before course: Full refund or free reschedule.
- 15–29 days before course: Refund or reschedule, less a 20% processing fee.
- Within 14 days: No refund or reschedule.
Ticket Transfers
SCA course tickets are transferable. Notify your Opo coach at least 24 hours before the course begins with the new attendee’s name and contact information.
Classes & Workshops
These policies apply to all non-certification classes, tastings, and workshops.
Cancellations
- More than 7 days before class: Full refund.
- 2–7 days before class: 50% refund.
- Less than 48 hours before class: No refund. Ticket transfer still allowed.
Rescheduling
- More than 14 days before class: Free reschedule to any future class of equivalent price, subject to availability.
- 1–14 days before class: $15 rescheduling fee per ticket. Reschedule to any future class of equivalent price, subject to availability.
- Less than 24 hours before class: Rescheduling not available. Ticket transfer still allowed.
No-shows
If you don’t attend and haven’t contacted us beforehand, the ticket is forfeited. No refund or reschedule.
Do I need to bring any equipment?
No equipment is required. Our lab is fully stocked with machines, tools, smallwares, milk, and coffee.
If you’d like to bring your own equipment, please clear it with your instructor ahead of time. These requests are best accommodated during private sessions.
How much experience do I need before taking a class?
No prior coffee experience is required for most classes. Our offerings are designed for everyone, from non-coffee drinkers to working professionals.
Some higher-level SCA certificate courses do have prerequisites, which will be listed on the course page.
Can we use non-dairy milk during classes?
We provide whole dairy milk. You’re welcome to bring your own non-dairy milk. Depending on the class, plan on bringing between one quart and one gallon.
Can I schedule a custom training session?
Yes. Our trainers can schedule private or custom sessions outside of posted classes.

Can you do off-site classes or experiences at my business or home?
Yes, when feasible. Rates start at $200 per hour (2 hr minimum), and additional fees or limitations may apply depending on location and scope.
